I recently compiled a list of Buffett's favorite books on
investing. This book is a far more comprehensive list, of books
recommended by Warren.

Over
Warren Buffett’s lifetime, “The Oracle of Omaha” has suggested
several books that he thinks is valuable to the investor. The list
consists of a wide spectrum of books including science, politics,
investing, economics and more. While I have not read all these
books they do not need my endorsement, as the oracle himself has
recommended them. However, I will provide a small summary of the
books that I am more familiar with.



Below is a list of Warren
Buffett’s recommended reading list:


  

  • 1989 —

    Essays In Persuasion



    by John Maynard Keynes. Authored by the legendary economist Keynes,
    this book is widely considered to be one of the top 100 greatest
    books of all time.
  • 1992 —
    The Theory of Investment Value


    by John Burr Williams. One of the earliest books on valuing
    stocks, discusses the method of discounted cash flow.
  • 1994 —
    The Intelligent Investor: The Definitive Book on Value Investing. A
    Book of Practical Counsel


    by Benjamin Graham. Authored by Buffett's mentor, this book is
    literally the bible of investing.



  • 1994 —
    The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money


    by John Maynard Keynes. Another book by one of the most influential
    economists in history.
  • 1994 —
    The People v. Clarence Darrow: The Bribery
    Trial of America’s Greatest Lawyer




    by Geoffrey Cowan. Interesting book about the trial of James and
    John McNamara, who were accused of bombing the offices of the Los
    Angeles Times , killing 20 men.
  • 1995 —
    A Piece of the Action: How the Middle Class
    Joined the Money Class


    by Joseph Nocera
  • 1996 —
    The Money Masters


    by John Train. A profile of some of the greatest investors
    ever.
  • 1996 —
    Paths to Wealth Through Common Stocks


    by Philip Fisher. Fisher's book contains some of the best passages
    describing inflation, the real effects of Federal Reserve rate cuts
    and hikes
  • 1997 —

    Science of Hitting



    by Ted Williams
